We are pleased to announce Pete Rimmer is once again helping to organise our music programme.

Pete, a performer since 1967 folk boom is involved in many of the music events in the North West with concerts locally at The Atkinson, Southport Theatre and Floral Hall. Long-time resident singer at the world famous Bothy Folk Club and a regular player at the folk festivals. Pete also play with the bands untrained-melody and Gallimaufry.

Regulars at the Bothy Folk Club and Tap and Bottles. Expect great guitar playing and interesting arrangement of folk and blues old and new from the band untrained-melody. The band are Pete Rimmer, Mike Huddart, Bill Hackney and Clive Pownceby.

Liverpool Shanty Kings
We welcome back The Liverpool Shanty Kings, singing and played all type of nautical songs and music. Join in the fun singing those sea shanties.

Grateful Fred’s Ukelear Deterrent
This well-known local group will be playing all sorts of music, everything from folk songs, Americana roots music and Standards. You are in for treat.

Restless Angels
Playing all sorts of acoustic music “The Old Grey Whistle Test meets Top of the Pops” Four piece band from Southport. Restless Angels are the reincarnation of 70s prog rock band Restless. Only Mick Cooper survives from the original band.

“The Ragged Trousered”
“The Ragged Trousered” a new trio based in the North West singing traditional and contemporary music, with great harmonies and plenty of chorus songs to join in with.

EDDA Ukulele Group
This new group play all sorts of music. They are based at EDDA Library and Community Centre here in Ainsdale.

Clive Pownceby
Clive describes himself as a “Freelance Folk activist!” He has been the Organiser, Host and Resident Singer at the world famous Bothy Folk Club in Southport since the mid ’70s. Clive is a great singer with terrific sense of humour. Clive is also an excellent drummer/ percussionist and has played with numerous folk and blues bands.

Chris and Siobhan Nelson
Chris and Siobhan perform songs from a wide range of sources, both contemporary and traditional, accompanied by Chris on fiddle, octave mandola, viola or tenor guitar, or performed acapella. Chris also plays a fiddle tune or two.
